2007 Frances Henne/YALSA/VOYA Research Grant Named. (January 2007) The Alameda County Library Write to Read literacy program at Juvenile Hall is one out of fifty-one programs nationally, being considered for the prestigious “Coming Up Taller Award” of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. (October 2006)
YALSA 2006 Election Results (May 2006) Loudoun County Public Library (Leesburg, VA), won a 2006 John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Award for their program "Hanging Out Rocks!" (September 2006)
Reading is a Hoot: Recommended reading for teens & tweens on exploring the environment! This list is available in the For Members Only section of the YALSA Web site to celebrate the theatrical release of Carl Hiaasen’s Hoot.

YALSA member and YAttitudes Editor, Amy Alessio, has won the Davis Cup Award from the Illinois Library Association.  The award is presented to a person who has made an outstanding contribution in library service to young people.

Since its inception, the award has been presented to individuals who exemplify resourcefulness, professionalism, and caring in their service to young people. (June 2006)
