COUNCIL ORIENTATION (standing, Council)
History: Established as an Ad Hoc Committee of Council in January, 1975, and confirmed as a Special Council Committee in June of 1980. Later the Council Orientation Committee became a standing ALA committee with regular two-year appointments.
APPOINTED ANNUALLY. NUMBER OF MEMBERS AT DISCRETION OF THE COMMITTEE ON COMMITTEES.
Charge: To develop and carry out the Midwinter orientation for new and continuing Councilors (at-large, chapter, and divisional) and to manage the Council suite or lounge at the Midwinter Meeting and (if the committee wishes) at the Annual Conference.
