LITA Heads of Library Technology (HoLT) Meeting
ALA Annual Conference
June 29, 2008 - Anaheim, California
Introductions and Announcements
The meeting was called to order by Chair Michelle Robertson. We had a full room of people – approximately 25. In fact, we had to request more chairs to seat everybody. We went around the room and everybody introduced themselves – their name, institution, major concerns. We had a good diversity of people from a variety of types of libraries around the country.- The HoLT email list is at http://lists.ala.org/wws/info/lita-holt. Our web site is at http://www.ala.org/ala/lita/litamembership/litaigs/headoflibtech/headslibrary.cfm.
- The ALA online communities are going away and will be replaced by a wiki which should beta in September.
- Michelle emailed the ALA web site redesign white paper which can be found at http://staging.ala.org/home.cfm.

We elected Mark Stoffan from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock as the incoming Vice-Chair.- Richard Wayne (Vice-Chair) gave a brief recap of the HoLT program from the day before on “Transformational Change: The Evolving Role of Library IT Departments.” The program was attended by approximately 180 people and was presented by Robin Hastings, Carole Kiehl, and Terry Nikkel.
