Search for new executive director:
- The committee felt that MLS or equivalent should be the language used in the job ad, and that knowledge of information technology and association management were desirable.
- It was agreed to advertise mostly online in order to speed the process.
- A possible shared staffing situation (with another division) was briefly discussed since there are other executive director positions open. The committee felt that it was not necessary or desirable at this time.
- Members of the search committee include Pat Ensor, chair; Sara Randall; Tam Miller; Mary Ghikas; and another ALA division staff member to be named.
2001 LITA National Forum:
- Approved: Registration fees of $275, $320, and $395 for the Forum, with preconferences priced like they were in 2000
- Approved flat fee of $2,000 for sponsor showcase tables. Other sponsor choices will be available
- Approved student "assistant" rates for up to12 local library school students @$125/each
- Approved Press to be charged $125 for registration
- Approved: The number of presenters receiving free registration will be kept to one per session unless there are extenuating circumstances
- Recommended: Attendance of no more than 500-600 total in order to preserve the advantages of a smaller conference.
Budget items
- Recommended: job hot link ad price be raised to $40 for 4 week period instead of $25.
- Descriptive ad prices remain the same as they have been
- Creation of a template for LITA Guides, for which there are funds in the budget
