EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Section's Executive Committee consists of the Chair, Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect, Secretary, the immediate Past-Chair, the Archivist/Historian (ex-officio), Newsletter Editor (ex-officio), and the Handbook Editor (ex-officio). The Section Board consists of the members of the Executive Committee and the chairs of standing and ad-hoc committees. In addition to conducting the Section business at the annual and midwinter meetings, the Executive Committee also has the responsibility for decisions regarding the Section during the periods of time between meetings. The duties and obligations of these officers and committees are explained in detail in the About Us section.
AWARDS COMMITTEE
To recognize outstanding instructional programming and leadership among our colleagues by choosing the recipients of awards sponsored by CJCLS. The committee will proactively research possible nominees for these awards and solicit nominations widely from membership, and convey their decisions to the Executive Committee. The committee will periodically review the selection criteria for honorees; coordinate publicity related to individual awards and award recipients according to ALA/ACRL award procedures; update information about award winners on the Section web site; and update the internal documents that guide the committee. The Committee also coordinates CJCLS awards events at the annual conference.
CONFERENCE PROGRAM PLANNING COMMITTEE
To identify appropriate topics for conference programs and plan program activities, locations, and participants for the ALA Annual Conference. To coordinate program sponsorship with other ALA units as appropriate. The Committee may also coordinate timely topical discussions of interest to community and junior college librarians for annual conference and/or midwinter meetings.
LIBRARY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT EDUCATION COMMITTEE
To explore, collect and disseminate information on Library Technical Assistant Training Programs; to provide channels of communications for sharing information on these programs; to explore establishing liaisons with Library Technical Assistant organizations; to investigate developing guidelines and standards for Library Technical Assistant Programs; to encourage publication of textbooks and other training materials. MEMBERSHIP/COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
To promote personal membership of the Section and to encourage participation in the Section and ACRL. To enhance communication related to community college libraries through a Section newsletter, listserv, website, or other appropriate media. To develop and coordinate publication activities of the section and its committees and to advise the section Executive Committee on publications projects. Membership on this committee includes the Section’s Webmaster and Newsletter Editor.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
To nominate candidates for elective positions. The Committee is comprised of three Section members appointed by the incoming Chair of CJCLS who selects the Chair of the Committee. The Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect may not serve on this committee. The Nominating Committee Chair may represent CJCLS on the ACRL Appointments and Nominations Committee if recommended by the Section Chair and appointed by the ACRL President.
The following committees will discontinue at the close of the 2006 Annual Conference in New Orleans.
The committees may be reformed at some point in the future to meet specific needs of the Section.
LIBRARY RESOURCES REVIEW COMMITTEE
To encourage the reviewing of materials of interest to community, technical and junior college libraries. This committee created the Contacts for Review Sources.
PLANNING AND PROCEDURES COMMITTEE
To do long-range planning, to recommend activities, and to propose revisions in the Bylaws of the Section. The Committee is comprised of a Chair and at least three others. The Past-Chair of the Section and the Handbook Editor customarily serve as members of this Committee. The Committee will include a balance between persons who have had experience and involvement in Section activities and those who have potential for involvement in the future.
RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE
To monitor, facilitate, encourage and support research and publication activities of the section: to provide policies, formats and guidelines to assist members in researching issues and publishing reports and articles; to establish contact with other ACRL committees with similar interests. The committee is comprised of the Chair and at least four other members.

STANDARDS COMMITTEE (AD HOC)
TEACHING AND LEARNING COMMITTEE
To identify, collect, and evaluate methods and programs of instruction and use as an integral part of the curriculum in all two-year college libraries and media centers. This committee created the Reviews of Web Tutorials.
TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE
To explore, collect and disseminate information on new technologies and their application for community and junior college learning resource centers; to provide channels of communication for sharing this information with the goal of developing optimal application of these new technologies to a broad range of community and junior colleges; and to establish liaison with and work with other groups within and outside CJCLS having similar concerns about the utilization of new technologies in libraries.
