Joining ALA, or continuing your membership, is a great way to stay in touch with a large community of librarians and other library workers, both in the US and abroad.

If you have ever been a member of ALA, you have a password in our member database. If you do not know or cannot recall your password, please click and follow the instructions to retrieve your password or have it emailed to you. 

Join ALA

• Only individuals who have never been a regular member are eligible for the first time member rate. During our quality control process, if a prior membership is found in our database, we will reinstate your expired record and any additional membership dues amount will be charged directly to your credit card. In the unlikely event that it is necessary for our office to charge additional monies, a notification of this transaction will be sent to you via e-mail.

• If you have previously created a profile on the ALA website (by providing us with your contact information) and have a password, please click the button below to login. Upon login, you will be directed back to the membership application.
