LITA/ACRL-ARTS Technology in the Arts IG/Committee

LITA/ACRL-ARTS Technology in the Arts IG/Committee is sponsoring a program
entitled the Digital Art Salon on Sunday June 27th. There will also be a
business meeting for the group, a part of the ACRL-ARTS all-committee
meeting on Saturday June 26th from 9:30 to 12:30, EMCC (Convention Center)
Room 264.

The powerful graphic capabilities of the World Wide Web make new methods
for creating art and disseminating art information possible. Step into the
Digital Art Salon to hear panelists speak on creative ways artists,
museums, and libraries are using digital technology in the arts.

Speakers include a digital artist and educator, an art historian, and a
museum information specialist. Some showcased projects are Art Images for
College Teaching (AICT), a Web-based resource providing open access to
digital images of art and architure, and ArtsConnectEd, an Internet gateway
for teachers, students, and parents to access educational resources at the
Walker Art Center, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and others.
