CURRENT_ACTIVITIES - 1. After introductions Gail Clement from the Program Planning Committe discussed the functions of the committe and how best to communicate with the committee for effective LITA program planning. She also spoke about how programs can develop into institutes and also publications. 2. Kathleen Hanson from the Publications Committee spoke about how pubications are brought into existence and encouraged Interest Group Chairs to think about publication possibilities. 3. Laura Cohen, IG Web pages Coordinator, spoke about how to get information to IG web pages. 4. Maurice York and Maribeth Manoff updated the group on the progress of the proposal to change the way Interest Groups are renewed after they are established. Maribeth will take the proposal forward to the Bylaws and Organization Committe for discussion and report back to the IGs.

FUTURE_ACTIVITIES - The Interest Group Chairs meet at both midwinter and annual conferences. They meet first with Committee Chairs and LITA Officers at 8:00am on Saturday morning for networking purposes at each conference, then meet separately at 8:30 to share information, learn about the inner workings of LITA, and resolve questions and work on any issues brough forward by the group. The meetings are open to everyone, and those who are considering being an Interest Group officer are encouraged to attend.
