Requirements for nomination or appointment to division office, boards, committees:
A nominee or appointee to a LITA Board, office, or committee must: be a personal member of ALA; be amember of LITA (for non-members, taking office is contingent upon LITA membership); be ready, willing and able to participate in the activities of the committee, support its mission or concerns, and carry out assignments in a timely manner; anticipate attendance at ALA Annual Conference and Midwinter meetings and at all committee meetings during his/her term of office (see ALA Policy 4.6)

ALA Policy 4.4 Nominations and Appointments: Restrictions
No person shall accept nominations or appointments which could result in simultaneous service in any two or more of the following categories: president of a division, president-elect of a division, chair of a section of a division, chair-elect of a section of a division, or chair of an ALA committee.

ALA Policy 4.6 Requirements for Committee Service
Members of all ALA and unit committees are expected to attend all meetings. Failure to attend two consecutive meetings or groups of meetings (defined as all meetings of a committee that take place at one Midwinter meeting or Annual Conference) without an explanation acceptable to the committee chair, constitutes grounds for removal upon request by the chair to and approval of the appropriate appointing officer or governing board.
