Spectrum - Mentoring & Networks
Since ALA's establishment of Spectrum in 1997 to address the specific issue of underrepresentation of critically needed ethnic librarians within the profession, the program has received tremendous support from a number of libraries, library schools and organizations across the country. Thank you to the following institutions and associations for helping Spectrum to provide an extraordinary continuum of care to its scholarship recipients.

University of California, Los Angeles provides all Spectrum recipients with a matching scholarship, typically in the form of a UCLA Graduate Division Scholarship. Florida

Florida State University provides a tuition waiver (in-state or out-of-state) for the term of the scholarship award to any Spectrum Scholarship recipient who pursues a Master's degree in library and information studies at Florida State University. On campus recipients will also be offered a graduate assistantship for the term of the scholarship award.
