2008 Diversity Research Grants Call for Proposals - Deadline Extended
Each year the Office for Diversity and the Diversity Research Advisory Committee identify three areas of scholarship where research is needed, typically one proposal is chosen from within each topic for a total of three awards. Visit the Diversity Research Grants page for information on this year's topics and instructions for submitting a proposal. The deadline to submit proposals has been extended to May 19th, 2008.

2008 MLIS Spectrum Scholarship Recipients to be Announced Before ALA Annual Conference
The deadline to apply for the 2008 MLIS Spectrum Scholarships has passed, recipients will be announced prior to the ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, June 26-July 2. Spectrum's major drive is to recruit applicants and award scholarships to American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander students. Spectrum provides a one-year $5,000 scholarship and over $1,500 in professional development opportunities to a number of eligible students planning to attend an ALA-accredited graduate program in library and information studies or an ALA-recognized NCATE School Library Media program.
