Support the Pura Belpré Award Endowment |

In managing an award program, there are many expenses involved, such as administering and publicizing the award and creating the medals and honor plaques. In order to meet these expenses and ensure the long-term sustainability of the Belpré award, ALSC, with approval and support from REFORMA, established the Pura Belpré Award Endowment in 1997. By 1997 the Endowment had grown enough to allow us to present the award annually from 2009 forward.
There are many ways in which you can support the Endowment: by purchasing Belpré DVDs produced by Scholastic/Weston Woods, by purchasing The Storyteller's Candle / La velita de los cuentos by Lucía González, or by making a tax-deductible donation.
Your tax-deductible donation to the Pura Belpré Award Endowment will help us in our goal to continue this important award program long into the future. Contributions can be sent in by mail, using our printable, mail-in form. Donors can also contribute online using our credit card donation form. (Choose "ALSC" under "Giving to ALA Divisions" and enter "For Pura Belpré Endowment" in the field near the bottom of the page marked "Please provide additional information about any of the above donations.")
