Cohen, Judy. Disability Etiquette Tips on Interacting with People with Disabilities
This etiquette pamphlet provides concrete information of interacting with people with disabilities. Cartoons provide humorous touch.

Dewsnap, Lois. Common Sense Discipline: Building Self-Esteem in Young Children: Stories from Life. Glen Burnie, MD: TelShare Publishing, 1995.  0-910287-11-2.
This guide to inclusion targets early childhood education programs.  It focuses on specific ways to include children with different types of abilities in group settings.

Feinberg, Sandra et al.  Including Families of Children with Special Needs: a How-To-do-It Manual for Librarians. NY: Neal-Schuman Publishers, Inc. 1999.  1-55570-339-9.
Including Families… is a very practical handbook for children’s services specialists. Programming, outreach, staff attitudes, library design and many other topics are covered.

Public Libraries. January/February 2003 issue.
The editor has devoted the entire issue to serving people with disabilities in public libraries. 

Walling, Linda Lucas and Irwin, Marilyn M.  Information Services for People with Developmental Disabilities: the Library Manager’s Handbook. Westport, CT:  Greenwood Press, 1995.  0-313-28782-5. Walling and Irwin cover people of all ages with developmental disabilities such as autism and Down syndrome. Sections on services to children are particularly useful.

Walling, Linda Lucas and Karrenbrock, Marilyn H. Disabilities, Children and Libraries: Mainstreaming Services in Public Libraries and School Library Media Centers. Englewood, CO: Libraries Unlimited, c. 1993.  0-87287-897-X.  This book sets the standard for library services to children with special needs. It gives in-depth coverage to different types of disabilities, ages, and services.
