Stephen Bosch awarded Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award

CHICAGO- The Acquisitions Section of the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) has selected Stephen Bosch to receive the 2006 Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award. Sponsored annually by Harrassowitz, the Leadership in Library Acquisitions award is given to a librarian to recognize contributions and outstanding leadership in the field of acquisitions and includes a $1,500 gift.

Stephen Bosch, Materials Budget, Procurement, and Licensing Librarian at the University of Arizona Library, has written and presented extensively in the areas of serial and book pricing, use measurement, licensing, and management of electronic resources. The Greater Western Library Alliance (GWLA) recognizes him for his leadership in cooperative acquisitions, and licensing endeavors on behalf of the consortia. Most of all, he is known as an educator who is willing to share his knowledge with his colleagues in the GWLA and across the country.

Bosch has a bachelor's of arts from Marietta College, a master's of arts and doctorate in Chinese history from the University of Arizona, and a master's in library science from the University of Arizona.

The award will be presented on Sunday, June 25, 2006, at the ALCTS Awards Ceremony and Membership Meeting during the 2006 American Library Association (ALA) meeting in New Orleans.
