STATEMENT: Looking towards the future of AASL, we see lots of new opportunities with implementing the new standards. We see opportunities to continue to help illustrate and define the critical role school library media programs play in the educational experiences our students need to be successful in the 21st Century. It is an exciting time to be a library media specialist. I am humbled and honored to have this opportunity to run for the AASL Board. I see it as an opportunity to serve the profession that has given me such a rewarding career and a chance to grow and learn as a professional. But, most of all I see as an opportunity to be a voice for library media professionals all across the country as AASL continues to help move our profession forward.
